(Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)Ohio State has been reported to be a major option for Georgia five-star quarterback transfer Justin Fields. Fields is looking for a new home after one season in Athens. The Buckeyes are likely to lose Dwayne Haskins to the NFL Draft, but they do have Tate Martell waiting in the wings. However, if Fields picks OSU and gets an NCAA waiver to play immediately in 2019, it seems likely he would be the Buckeyes’ starter.During today’s National Signing Day media availability, Day was asked about Ohio State potentially being in the market for a transfer QB.Unsurprisingly, he chose not to say too much about that.Ryan Day would not comment on the possibility of Ohio State adding a high-profile quarterback transfer (Justin Fields).— Eleven Warriors (@11W) December 19, 2018Ryan Day didn’t want to answer a question about “high-profile quarterback transfers” (read: Justin Fields). He talked about how much work Tate Martell and Matthew Baldwin have gotten during bowl practices instead.— Tom Orr (@TomOrr4) December 19, 2018Day would be foolish to say anything about a potential quarterback transfer. It does him no good at this juncture.Still, Fields seems like an obvious fit, especially considering Georgia flipped Ohio State four-star quarterback commit Dwan Mathis today.A Fields-for-Mathis “trade” makes sense.
