Sakshi, along with seven other Indian women wrestlers, is currently practising hard in US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.”My focus is to win gold in Asian Championship. My training is going great and we (team) are learning new techniques here,” the Rio Olympic bronze medallist told Mail Today over the phone.Last year in Bishek, Sakshi had won bronze in the championship. “I want to change the colour. There are areas where my coach and I are working on. I have learnt a lot from my past mistakes and don’t want to repeat it,” said the Haryana grappler. In the recently held Dan Kolov-Nikol Petrov tournament in Ruse, Bulgaria, Sakshi had won silver after losing the final to Henna Johansson of Sweden in the 65kg category. However, what was more motivating for her was that she defeated reigning world champion Petra Olli of Finland in the semi-finals.”That win against Olli was very motivating. It actually boosted my confidence. Losing final was no doubt disappointing and my coach told me where I lacked in the gold medal match,” she added.Indian squad for Asian Championship: Free Style: Ravi Kumar (57kg), Rahul Aware (61kg), Bajrang Punia (65kg), Rajneesh (70kg), Amit Dhankar (74kg), Praveen Rana (79kg), Deepak Punia (86kg), Viky (92kg), Satyavrat Kadian (97kg) and Sumit (125kg).Greco Roman Style: Manjeet (55kg), Gyanender (60kg), Vikram Kumar (63kg), Ravinder (67kg), Yogesh (72kg), Gurpreet Singh (77kg), Harpreet Singh (82kg), Sunil Kumar (87kg), Hardeep Singh (97kg) and Prem Kumar (130kg)advertisementWomen Wrestling: Seema (50kg), Vinesh (53kg), Lalita Sehrawat (55kg), Pooja Dhanda (57kg), Manju (59kg), Sakshi Malik (62kg), Navjot Kaur (65kg), Divya Kakran (68kg), Kiran (72kg) and Pooja (76kg).Get real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story?
