Men’s Golf Unveils 2016 Spring Schedule

first_imgDES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University men’s golf team will compete in six tournaments all across the country as part of its 2016 spring schedule announced by head coach Matt Lewis, Thursday, Nov. 5.”I am very excited about our upcoming spring schedule. Overall, we will have a challenging schedule both with quality courses and strong fields. I tried to set up our schedule where we compete in March and April to help with peaking at the right time heading into the conference tournament,” said Lewis. The Bulldogs’ spring slate gets underway on Feb. 28 through March 1 at the Loyola Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz at the Palm Valley Golf Club. The next week, Drake travels to Sacramento, Calif., for the two-day Sacramento State Invitational (March 7-8). The Bulldogs will then compete in the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, hosted by William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. on March 20-22.Drake opens the final month of the regular season at the NYX Hoosier Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. on April 2-3. The team will get its final tune-up of the season on April 11-12 at the ORU Shootout in Broken Arrow, Okla. Two weeks later the team wraps up the regular season at the MVC Championship in Hutchinson, Kan. (April 25-26).Print Friendly Versionlast_img
