Fort St. John Fire Department takes part in vehicle extraction training

first_imgMembers of the Fort St. John Fire Department were brushing up on their vehicle extraction skills this week. Fire Chief Fred Burrows said the department was taking part in the exercises to ensure that they stay sharp when it comes to removing someone from a vehicle if needed, and to also remain informed about how to go about extraction with the safety features of today’s vehicles changing at a fast pace.“We brought an instructor in to run two days of training for our members,” Burrows said. It was a refresher and the fellow we brought in is very abreast of new car technologies in regards to alternative fuels and some of the new safety systems that are built into the new vehicles.”The training was done at Richmond Steel, and the instruction was provided by George Klemm of KGC Fire Rescue.- Advertisement –last_img
