Farmer charged for Haslington man’s murder

first_imgDeonarine Sasenarine Chow, 49, a farmer of Wash Clothes, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was on Tuesday charged for killing 39-year-old Sean Waldron.He appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Mahaicony Magistrate’s Court and was remanded until June 11.Waldron’s badly decomposed body was found floating in the Mahaicony Creek after he was reported missing by his sister.An autopsy conducted revealed that the dead man was strangled and also suffered blows about his body.The dead man’s sister had reported that she was informed by a cousin that Waldron had left for the interior with a “one foot” man.However, the woman became suspicious after she did not hear from her brother and made a report at the Cove and John Police Station.On Tuesday last, when the woman returned to the station for a follow up on her report, she heard that there was a report of a body found floating. She later went to see the body and realised it was her brother. Following an investigation, Sasenarine was arrested and slapped with the murder charge.last_img
